Numerous data sources

We can connect to a vast number of data sources including Telstra Health’s Communicare, Best Practice software, Medical Director and Titanium. Plus data from other platforms such as Community Data Solutions, SharePoint, HR databases and individual Excel files to name a few.

We can also combine them into one or fewer interfaces, reducing the number of systems you have to log in to, to run reports.

Your own branding

We can use elements from your style or brand guide to give your Business Intelligence reports a look and feel that matches your other content. This creates a sense of ownership and familiarity for your teams and clients.

Ross’s extensive experience over several years has culminated an ability to be able to translate complex programming logic into to clean and understandable evaluation tools. Programs Manager – Waminda

PJ

I worked with Ross on a number of IT projects in health and he always delivered as promised. His professionalism with the client is second to none, allowing him to deliver great outcomes.

Ross is particularly knowledgeable in data. His health BI dashboards are the best I’ve seen in the industry, and they are very flexible and configurable due to his skill in this area.

Ross is also very personable at the same time. His ability to work through all levels of an organisation and deliver great outcomes is a testament to his positive nature and personal integrity. Even though I work in a different industry now, I still regularly keep in touch with Ross

Lead Trainer and System Administration

Angie

When we engaged Ross as a consultant, our organisation had multi-level IT dysfunction, poor engagement with community, low staff morale and high staff turnover. Staff surveys and exit interviews identified dysfunctional IT systems as a major contributing factor to workplace stress, dissatisfaction and in some instances the reason staff sought alternative employment.

Ross is unlike any other business improvement or IT consultant I have ever engaged, he was (is) genuinely committed to empowering our organisation to improve health outcomes for our mob. He has operationalised our own vision by listening to how we want to be supported. This has included undertaking a comprehensive system audit, developing a strategic IT direction report, identifying and recommending service optimisation opportunities, implementing agreed service optimisations, providing staff training, building customised data reporting and managing strategic communication.

Ross is a true ally for Aboriginal people, he took time to expand his knowledge and understand the uniqueness of the Biripi people, culture, and history. He did this on an ongoing basis, in a meaningful way, by engaging in conversations with our staff, who are also community members and ultimately service users.
In my experience, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health organisations have been taken advantage of by businesses promising to help, whilst only concerning themselves with their own profit. Creative Data Systems and Solutions is a purpose driven, ethical business that is committed to the principle of self-determination. Moreover, on a personal level, Ross is passionate, committed, hardworking and incredibly knowledgeable. I have recommended him to other Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and will continue to do so.

CEO – Biripi ACMC

Tania

Ross coordinated and facilitated the transition of our organisation’s IT systems to a new IT provider, under very difficult circumstances. He was extremely thorough, organised, methodical and patient in analysing our gaps, identifying our strengths, and mapping the transition. He took the time to understand our business needs, and continuously communicated with and provided ongoing updates to staff. Ross’ loyalty and commitment to our organisation has been outstanding and we have the greatest respect for the quality of work he delivers and his work ethic. We trust Ross implicitly with our business needs and I highly recommend him.

Health Services Manager – Biripi ACMC

Crystal

On initial engagement with Ross it was clear that he had extensive knowledge of business systems and processes. This was demonstrated when he was able to translate our conversations into meaningful data output. Ross took the time to understand what we wanted to achieve, and developed a solution that exceeded the original intent. As an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation meaningful data plays a key role in being able to provide services to meet the needs of our community. I strongly encourage anyone wanting to gain a better understanding and insight of their data to speak to Ross from Creative Data Systems and Solutions.

Senior IT Officer – ATSICHS Mackay

Danielle

We first approached Ross James and commissioned him with the task of helping us (and training us) to design and develop a ‘first-of-its-kind’ data integration project we were spearheading as part of a Commonwealth-funded pilot project that currently supports a number of Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) across Australia in February 2023. The goal – in short, to become ‘data custodians’ and thus self-determined in creating a bespoke database solution for the wider Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector, so as to not to rely on census data to inform and/or support any evidence-based advocacy work we do now, and into the future, and for evaluation and research efforts, and to fulfil reporting requirements.
The project brief was exactly that – brief, yet, despite this, Ross managed to successfully measure our needs both initially and ongoing as the project progressed and exceeded expectations overall. Not only did he help us in effectively mapping our requirements from the outset of the project, but he also simultaneously helped us navigate the perils of the unknown, assessing our future needs concurrently, keeping in mind the importance of Community throughout (vitally important), and analysed the data we had at hand to build completely new data sets subsequently transforming these data sets into visually immersive insights in the form of a series of Power BI reports.
Ross’ insights and expertise were truly invaluable to our organisation in that he built this solution for us from scratch over the span of just a few short months. He is ever the professional, extremely diligent, and client-focused, and well adept in evaluating data and using analytical and logical reasoning to perform thorough data analysis. This in turn has led us to deduce more meaningful insights from the data we collate, and as a result, we can now use this data optimally to effect change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
